France starting 11 against China...Deja vu all over again

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein.

Sigh, this might be apt to describe Domenech's line up. Les Bleus head into their last pre-World Cup warm up match against China and once again has decided to change...nothing. Oh because things have gone oh so well over the past 2 games. I am not saying change the entire system, I remain firmly supportive of the 4-3-3. However the problem remains - who will hold  up the right side of the offense and what about center forward? Domenech started a few weeks ago with a line up of the following (except Mandanda was in goal)

Lloris - Sagna, Gallas, Abidal, Evra (cap.) - Gourcuff, Toulalan, Malouda - Govou, Anelka, Ribéry.

The line up won a 2-1 victory over Costa Rica there was some positive and there remained some question marks.
Those question marks were to be addressed over the next 2 games...unfortunately it appears that Domenech continued to do the same thing. Start Govou on the right and Anelka up front. Why? There are options on the roster...use them! Gignac he appears to be a pure center forward. Valbuena had a very appealing 20 minutes against Costa Rica, maybe start him to see if this is something he can sustain, the OM player did not even see the pitch against Tunisia. Makes no sense. The Tunisia game's substitution pattern seemed to be Domenech's chance to just roll out all his players without any strategy or attempt at trying anything useful. Lost opportunity.

Clearly this line up will most likely be the one taking the pitch against Uruguay on the 11th. The right side remains a problem as does center forward. Too bad Domenech has not taken advantage of these matches to try and experiment with solutions. Insane.

All we can do is embrace it and hope for the best. At least we don't have the 4231.

It isn't that Govou is bad, its just our other options look a lot better at the moment. Here is my perfect line up.

Ribery Cisse Anelka

Anelka can play on the right and move back and switch spots with Gourcuff from time to time. Cisse is the perfect target man, and will always be ready to score.

@Jean-Francois I have to agree, I think that the frustrating thing is that there are other BETTER options for the right wing rather than Govou. Granted I think that Govou is a fringe international player, but that is another story for another day. With regards to the current team, Valbuena, Anelka or even Cisse might be better options on the right wing. I actually think that Govou could be a late game substitute - a veteran you can bring in to stabilize the right side from a defensive angle. But not as a full fledged starter.

Alas I think we are stuck with Ribery - Anelka - Govou up front.
