Diarra to showcase versus England

Latest news - M'Vila and Matuidi will be out for the opening France game against England. While both, especially the Rennes midfielder, will still be available later in the tournament, it will be tough heading into the first match without the full compliment of players. M'Vila has been the most used player by Blanc and that will make things slightly more challenging. Granted, England have their own injury concerns.

It could have been worse!
This would point to seeing Diarra starting the match as Blanc's defensive midfielder. If the latest match is an indication, it would appear that Blanc might lean on a 4-3-3 with a midfield of Malouda, Diarra and Cabaye. Diarra will be responsible for protecting the back 4 allowing Cabaye and Malouda to push higher on the pitch.

The loss of M'Vila will be difficult for Blanc, and with Matuidi out for the first match, Blanc has only one healthy defensive midfielder - Diarra. Let us hope that the OM midfielder does not pick up a knock between now and June 11th!

Boss 100% fit average player is provide better support than injured superstar. Last euro france suffered for Viera...We need immediately replace the Injured Player...France has some great DM like Lassan Diarra, Flamini, Mavuba....

Thanks

I completely agree. When we took Vieira 4 years ago we were always "waiting" for him to recover and stabilize the team....we know how thr turned out.

However this situation is different. Vieira was at the end of his career and clearly injuries were more difficult to overcome. Both M'Vila and Matuidi are young. In addition neither or their injuries should keep them out beyond June 11th. So no reason to jettison them for some of the other options

Compared to Englands injury list we are fortunate, but it is very disappointing that M'vila cant play in the opening game. That being said, if France should not manage to beat England I will see it as a huge disappointment. The only team that I can see les bleus reasonably dropping points to would be Sweden, and even then, this group is ours.

France can try 3-5-2 diamond system. Today's match against Estonia..i want Crosso as GK.... and Must rest the Star Player Like Rebary Benjama Nasiri. Also LB can try Anthony Réveillère as CB. I think Ribery has last chance to prove his ability in this euro.........
