The one take away from yesterday's game is the fact that Hugo Lloris is emerging as the French #1. As Henry mentioned a keeper needs to make 2-3 big saves/plays in any win, and Lloris did exactly that yesterday. With his huge save at the end of the game at the feet of Whelan where he exhibited a text book 1 on 1 save, sprawling out make himself big and deflecting the point blank shot with his shoulder. Granted one game does not make a career...least we forget this is the same keeper that gave up 5 goals the prior weekend in the OM v OL game.
A nice compilation of saves from the OL keeper, the one he had against PSG when he was with Nice was amazing.

Lloris has been amazing in the champions league also. I have always wanted to have Lloris as the keeper for France even though he might have not been ready.
Lloris is so young and so is Mandanda they can only get better and France should be in safe hands for years to come.
I do not think Lloris can be chosen as #1 until Mandanda gets another chance or two in the goal. But he was, in my opinion, France's player of the match yesterday.
Manadanda does deserve his chance, but I think those chances will be few and far between. If Lloris has a good game on Wednesday I cannot see him not establishing himself as the #1 for the World Cup, baring injury or suspension (see Lama before the 1998 world cup).
This is one of the reasons that the French team needs to get as many friendlies as possible to sort out these issues for starting teams. And even who is going to be on the team.
Absolutely, the more friendlies the better. But first Les Bleus need to take care of business Wednesday, and that is far from guaranteed!
