Both Marseilles players received their pre-call up from Laurent Blanc for the upcoming friendly with Norway. No surprise there, I had both players on my list. Couple this with other players that have received their pre-call ups from Blanc it is becoming clear that "le President" is leaning heavily on players from Ligue 1. Non France based players are N'Zogbia, Mexes and Menez, no pre-call up for the likes of Nasri, Benzema or LDiarra yet...the full list is out this Thursday. It will be interesting to see who is on the final list.
nasri is almost certain to get the call. he is the obvious replacement for gourcuff and has had a pretty good pre-season.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Not only would Nasri be the "#10" for Les Bleus, he would also look pretty good on the right wing for France. He looked very dangerous there over the weekend for Arsenal. Too bad Domenech did not realize that...

@JLP I just saw the 4 calls up from PSG, I think it came across the web earlier today. I was a little surprised that so many were called up from the Parisian team.
ReplyDeleteLast time that happened...hmmm...great question. Top of mind not in a very very very long time! Probably when PSG had Bats, Fernandez, Rocheteau etc. That was a LONG time ago.
Barnad Lama, Alain Roche, David Ginola ..and forget some name. They called France team in 92-93 all r from PSG.

Oh good one @Lekarlokin...I think the 4th was Guerin. Those PSG teams had some talent. N'Goty used to sometimes show up for France at times as well...
